Life is made up of moments. Moments in time where you experience or touch or smell or feel something. The purpose of life is to savor these moments. To capture these moments in our minds, in our hearts. These moments are what bring us joy, and sometimes sadness. But regardless of the emotion, they are meant to be had. They are meant to be fully lived. We live in the moment. We experience the moment. And sometimes, if we are lucky, we capture the moment. Not fully, because no memory, or video, or photography will fully encapsulate the grandeur of a moment. But we ave tools in which to aid us in remembering the magnitude of a moment. Cameras are just one of those tools. We use them to stimulate our brains to remember a scent of fresh flowers, or the memory of a grandparent. Sometimes they take us to a favorite vacation spot, or the first time we looked upon a new baby. Cameras help up remember, they help us reminisce. Polaroid cameras are a new favorite obsession of mine in case you haven’t noticed by their popularity on Vintage Pod’s site. I love that not only do you have an instant picture, but that they are so easy to use. You point, you click, you’re done. No sifting through a million and a half photos to find the “perfect one” (which is still probably grainy and half goofy/half serious). You don’t spend 45 minutes trying to get every member of the family to smile, which in my family is about 18 smiles. You just take the picture. While I love technology, and I appreciate its constant advances, there is something beautiful about the simplicity of an instant picture. There is something about capturing and then living in that moment instead of spending the time trying to perfectly line up a shot. Regardless of whether or not you want to invest in one of my incredible cameras (though I highly suggest it!) take a shot and move on with life. Your kids, your friends, your family will appreciate your participation in a moment more than they will the “perfect” picture that you may or may not have taken. Enjoy life. Live it to it’s fullest. It only comes around once, so make sure you don’t miss it!
